Meebo just released their free IM client for the iPhone. It supports all the major protocols and is easy to setup. The UI is very Mac like, fast and pretty. The best part is the push notification system. It keeps you logged in and sends a notification as soon as someone sends you a message. If you click view, it takes you back to the conversation instantly. This works better than any of the paid apps including Beehive.

San Francisco, CA – In anticipation of the release of TextExpander touch for the iPhone, SmileOnMyMac today released TextExpander 2.7, an update to its customizable typing shortcut tool for Mac OS X. The update makes it possible to share snippet groups between a Mac and an iPhone or iPod touch, when TextExpander touch is installed on the device. TextExpander 2.7 also fixes occasional stalling under Snow Leopard

TextExpander touch will be available August 26 on the App Store.

I’m using Typinator right now on my Mac, and I just started looking for a similar app for the iPhone, so this is perfect timing. I love these autotext or snippet apps on my Mac, and I really want one for the iPhone. Until now none would sync with the desktop version. I can’t wait till this comes out, and I hope and export my snippets from Typinator.

An update was released today that not only fixes the bug but adds several great new features.

This app is fast and clean, it’s the Tweetie for FriendFeed.
